Meet Feathered Friends
Regrettably, the clock is ticking for many of these species, with scientists predicting their potential extinction by 2043. This stark reality compels us to redouble our efforts, working tirelessly to protect as many threatened Australian Black Cockatoos as possible. For instance, the Baudin’s Cockatoo, now critically Endangered (IUCN 2021), has seen its population plummet by a staggering 90% over the last three generations.
“Sadly, the Baudins black cockatoo may not be around long enough for us to learn its secrets.”
WWF Australia.
“Endangered and are considered likely to become extinct in the wild” ACF.
ACF.
“Even the most conservative estimates of bird shooting deaths suggest that the Baudin’s cockatoo may become extinct within our lifetime”
WWF.
Unfortunately, Feathered Friends are not government-funded and can only rely on support funding from donors and passionate individuals who are interested in saving the Black Cockatoos of Australia. Your help is essential for us to continue our work on this project.
